About Us

Welcome to The Daily Pour

The difference between the coffee you grab on the way to work and the cup you make at home usually isn’t an expensive machine. It’s a few small things nobody tells you: how coarse to grind, how hot the water should be, how long to wait. Once you know them, a $30 setup on your kitchen counter can beat most café coffee — and cost you a fraction of the price.

That’s what this site is about. You’re Amazing is a home for people who love good coffee but don’t want to spend a fortune, learn a new vocabulary, or buy a machine that takes up half the counter. Whether you just bought your first French press or you’re finally trying to pour a latte heart, we’ll walk you through it in plain language.

What you’ll find here

Every guide here is written to be followed in a real kitchen, with real (often budget) equipment. Our five main topics are:

  • Brewing Methods — clear, step-by-step guides to pour-over, French press, AeroPress, drip, cold brew and moka pot, with the ratios and times that actually matter.
  • Grinding & Beans — how to choose beans, understand roasts, grind correctly for your brewer, and keep everything fresh.
  • Budget Coffee Gear — honest breakdowns of what’s worth buying, what isn’t, and how to build a home coffee setup without overspending.
  • Milk & Latte Art — frothing and steaming milk, plus beginner-friendly latte art you can practice at home.
  • Coffee Recipes & Drinks — café-style drinks, seasonal favorites and homemade syrups you can make for less than the price of one takeout cup.

Who’s behind You’re Amazing

You’re Amazing is written by Maria Peixoto, a home-coffee enthusiast based in Portland, Oregon. Maria isn’t a certified barista or a coffee industry insider — she’s someone who got tired of mediocre mornings, fell down the home-brewing rabbit hole, and spent years testing methods, ruining a few batches, and figuring out what genuinely makes a better cup. She writes the beginner-friendly guides she wishes she’d had when she started.

The goal is simple: give you clear, tested, jargon-free advice so your coffee gets better and your mornings get a little more enjoyable.

Our editorial approach

Our articles are researched and written to be as accurate and practical as possible, and reviewed before publishing. Coffee is personal — taste, budget and equipment vary — so we focus on explaining the why behind each recommendation, not just handing out rules. When something comes down to preference, we say so. If you ever spot something that seems off, we genuinely want to hear about it.

Advertising and how this site is supported

You’re Amazing is a free resource, and we keep it free through advertising. This site displays ads served by third-party ad networks, including Google AdSense. You can learn more about how your information is used, and how to opt out of personalized advertising, in our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy.

We only ever recommend approaches and types of equipment we believe in, and our editorial content is never dictated by advertisers.
